Sw Donner Meat Calzonie

Sw Donner Meat Calzonie

What do i need
(i have listed the items per section so please check each section to make sure you have all the products to prepare your calzone.)

For the outside of the Calzone.
40g of cathedral Light cheese (healthy extra A)
1 Weight Watchers Wrap (Healthy Extra B or syns)
1 egg
parsley (optional)

Pizza Sauce
250g Passata Sauce
2 tbsp of tomato puree
1 tsp Garlic
1 tbsp Crushed Chilli's
1 tbsp Chive's

Donner Meat
Tesco 5% Mince 750g
 3 tsp garlic powder
1 onions chopped finely
1/2 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp paprika
1 egg (beaten)
1 tbsp parsley
1 tsp mixed herbs
1 tbsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp crushed chilli's
1 tsp of cumin
1/4 tsp of cinnamon

Let's get started
Place your mince in a bowl and then add your finely chopped onion and blend well.
Next add in the all spices
Now add in your beaten egg.
Get your hands into the mix and knead to mix well until it is smooth.
Turn your mixture out onto a cutting board and shape into rectangle style shape
(I tend to make mine long and flat for easy cutting and helps fit in more layers in your calzone when cut)
Take a tray and give it a good spray of frylight.
Place your shaped Mix into the tray and then place into the oven and cook.
I cook it for 20 minutes on one side at 200 and then i flip it over and cook for an additional 20 minutes on the other side to make sure it is fully cooked.
Once cooked let cook on the side and then slice thinly.

Now to prep your calzone

Grab your  other egg and whisk it into a bowl
Take your weight watcher wrap and using a pastry brush
brush the whisked egg around the edge of the wrap only.
Then Let it sit for a minute or so to allow the egg to soak into the wrap.

Now take all the ingredients for the pizza sauce and mix together in a bowl
Once your sauce is well mixed take a small tsp of sauce and place it in the center of your weight watcher wrap and using the back of the spoon smooth it around.
Then take a small touch of your cheese and top it

Take some of your slice donner meat and place it on top of the sauce.

now take a small amount of your grated cheese and spread over the top of the donner meat.
Now take some more donner meat and layer this ontop.
Then spread some more of your sauce ontop of your donner meat and then top with another small handful of your cheese.
you can do a third layer but this is upto you.
Don't overfill or you will have problems trying to press shut.
When you have finished your layers take the edge of your wrap and flip it over creating moon shape.

Now brush top edge of the wrap and then take a fork and press down to make the wrap stick.
(If you find that your wrap is not sticking together you can use cocktail sticks to help keep it closed by gently pushing them into the top of the wrap through into the bottom

Now top of your calzone with some more sauce and finish off with the rest of you cheese.

then add a sprinkle of parsley to garnish.
Pop in the oven at 200 for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
(Please keep an eye when cooking as not to over cook or you may find that the outside of the wrap will go very crispy)

When ready serve with salad or your choice or side and enjoy

Chicken Kebab's Sw Style

SW Chicken Kebabs

Do you miss a cheeky little chicken kebab on a friday or saturday night well look no further i have a lovely Syn free yes that;s right Syn free recipe for our Sw chicken kebab's that will cure your cheeky craving on any weekend.

(I appreciate that there is various other recipes out there for  slimming world chicken kebab's this however is my choice of mix to use to make our version)

What Do You need.

please beware your chicken mix will need at least 30 minutes marinating time before preparing your stand up kebab ready to cook in the oven.

4 large chicken breasts
2 Onions
400g Tesco Greek Style Natural Yogurt 0% Fat Free
1 Full Fresh Red Pepper
2 Tsp Of Garlic Granules
2 Tsp Cumin Powder
2 Tsp Paprika
2 Tsp Cayenne Powder
1 Tsp of black pepper
2 Tsp of Crushed Chilli'
Frylight
Pack of wooden Kebab Skewers
( you will use approximately 8 in total)

Important information Oven Prep:
Open your oven and remove all your oven tray's apart from one and place that to the bottom of your oven. This is so that when you create your standing up kebab you have enough room for it to fit into you oven.

Let's Get Started

Take your chicken Breasts and cut your chicken into long slices (Make sure your chicken pieces are thick enough to go onto your skewers) and place into a bowl for later.

Take Your Red Pepper and remove the inside of your pepper and Remove the seed's with a knife.
(If you touch the seed whilst removing them please make sure you wash your hand's after just to be safe. This is just a safety precaution in-case you accidentally touch your face or eye's and cause them to sting)
With the remaining Pepper cut this long way's the same as your chicken making sure they are thick enough to go to thread on to your skewers. Place these to the side.

Take a bowl and pour in your greek yogurt and then add in all the spices and mix very well to spread all the spices well.

When your yogurt spice mix is well blended take your chicken and pepper and place it into the mix and start to fold these into your mix. Making sure the chicken and pepper's are well covered.

Cover the bowl with cling film and place in your fridge for 30 to 40 minutes to allow the mix soak into your chicken and peppers.

5 to 10 minutes before  the mix is due to come out of the fridge prepare your cooking tray and place your oven on to 200 c to heat.

Take an oven tray that has sides (This is important to help keep your kebab upright)
Spray your tray with fry light.
Then take your two onion's and remove the brown skin and cut the end's to make it flat on each side of both onion's.
Place the onion's on your tray (flat side down) and take two of your wooden skewer's and push the first skewer's through the first onion and through the second.
Do the same with the second skewer so that both skewers and through your onion's like this.

This may take a few tries depending on how strong your onions are to get the skewers through but i find this helps Stabilise your kebab's whilst cooking.

Now take four more skewer's and place them into the onions so they are standing upright.
Like below.

Take your chicken mix from the fridge.
Now it's time to get messy.
Remove the clingfilm from your bowl and take your first piece of chicken and start to thread it on to one of the standing up skewers.
Next take a long pepper from your mix and thread that on to of your piece of chicken.
Continue to do this until all of your chicken and pepper mix is on your skewer's.

You maybe left with some excess sauce in your bowl after threading all of your coated chicken and peppers.
Take a spoon and pour this over the onions on the bottom of your kebab.
This will soak into the onions and infuse the flavour into the onions as well.

Now this is the important bit to keep your kebab's upright.
Take Two more wooden skewers and snap then into two in the centre to make 4 pieces in total and then take two of your piece of skewer's and push them into the onion at the front of your tray (see picture below)and place the edge of your skewers on the edge of tray like the picture below.
Take the other two pieces and do the same at the back of the onion's and lean the edges onto the edge of your oven tray like the picture below.
This is important as it will stabilise your kebab to help it staying upright whilst cooking as your onion will begin to soften through the cooking process and without the extra skewers it may tip over.

Open your heated oven door and now carefully lift your tray (holding on to the top of your kebab so your can steady it ) and place it into your oven.
If you find your kebab struggles to stay upright through the cooking process you can lay it on to it's side and rotate through the cooking process to cook all sides.
I have never personally had to do it this way but it should work just as well.
Cook your kebab for 30 minutes and then give it a good spray all the way round with fry light.
If you notice there is some juice in the bottom of your tray don't worry this will disintegrate in the cooking process.
However you can remove some of the liquid if you feel it is affecting the cooking process but i have never had to.
close your oven door and then cook for another 40 minutes or until it is browned to your liking whichever comes first.

Remove the kebab carefully from your oven.
I usually find having a tea towel in hand and hold the kebab skewers from the top with the towel whilst using your other hand with a oven glove to remove the tray works fine and stops the kebab tipping  over but do whatever is safest for you as you don't want to burn yourself.
Your kebab is now ready. cut your chicken from the skewers and then slice up your cooked onion that was on the bottom and serve with whatever side you like.

I find this is delicious with a weight watcher wrap (a healthy extra choice or 6 syn's) and some salad for a cheeky Fake away on a Friday night.

We hope you enjoyed this recipe and if you did please let us know in the comment's below.

Welcome To Love Food Love Yourself Love Sw

I thought i would start out by introducing ourself and why we have created this blog.

I have been a slimming world member since 2016 and have fallen in love with the plan.
When i joined slimming world i was a size 20 dress and was so unhappy with myself, i struggled losing weight despite following many different plans over the years but i struggled to follow them and when i did lose weight as soon as i stopped without fail i always piled it back on again.
It was like a losing battle.

My finally moment i realise enough was enough and i seriously had to do something about my weight gain was when i saw myself in wedding photos when i was a bridesmaid. I had always been heavy throughout my life but i always used to hide in baggy clothes and always hide from a camera so that it didn't depress me seeing me so big.

When i saw myself in that photo i cried and realised i had to do something before i put on anymore weight and put more pressure on my body and affected my health more than what it was.
So a friend of mine suggested trying slimming world.
I went along to my first class and was so very nervous but the consultant  annemaire was lovely and so understanding and put me at ease right away.
I aimed for a loss of 5 stone when i set my target and hoped for the best.
I started following the plan and couldn't believe i could eat so much food and yet still lose weight.
Within a year i lost 3 stone and felt very proud of myself that i had gotten so far and not given up.
I took a small break due to personal reasons for month and a half but rejoined again at the start of 2017 alongside my husband who had seen how well i had done and had also decided to join slimming world along with me as he was advised he was on the brink of becoming a diabetic.
He was advised to try and lose a bit of weight and because he had seen me lose so much through slimming world he thought he would give it a try and we could support one another at the same time.

We rejoined together in 2017 at the same class i had been originally going to and luckily enough when i weighed in i had only put on a few lb's in the period of time of being away.
I decided i was going to stick to the same target i had chosen on day 1 of joining slimming world.
In the weeks after my husband took to slimming world like a duck to water and he was losing weight and enjoying the plan.
I can say i am so very proud of him at how hes changed his eating habits and taken to the plan so easy.
After a few months of joining My husband recieved the Man of the Year award and Mr sleek award from our group and i couldn't have been happier for him.
He lost 2 stone in 5 and half month's
I continued to lose weight alongside him getting closer and closer to that target.
Then in June 2017 on the same week at weigh in both myself and my husband hit our final targets together and since then have continued to maintain our target weights since then.
We continue to go to class every week and share our story and support others on there journey to there targets and have made so many wonderful friends.

I can say that slimming world has been the best decision we have both made in our life's.

That' is why we decided to start this blog together.
We both wanted to share our experience with other slimming world members and share a recipe or two that we have created over the last few years that could help you to your target.
We hope you enjoy our blog and if you do try any of our recipes please let us know what you think as we would love to hear your thoughts.

Thank you
